Barclay's Landing

BARCLAY'S LANDING | ROWAYTON, CT

Private Residences

Barclays Landing, originally a 10,000 sq ft commercial building was torn down and re-built in to four luxury town homes on the river with each with their own private docks. The goal of Barclay's Landing was to accommodate the ever growing group of those that wanted to downsize but still maintain the quality of life that these homes afforded.

Perched above the Five Mile River, these homes each come with their own state of the art deep water dock allowing residents a quick walk outside their homes, down the ramp to their boats. Facing west the homes invite the late afternoon sun over the river making its view very unique.

The homes are built using antique flooring and stone tile. Christopher Peacock cabinetry with honed granite countertops, Wolf and sub Zero appliances make these kitchens beautiful and yet very functional. The open floor living space with the library off the living room allows for easy living.

The master suite with beautifully appointed dressing rooms, warm tiled bathrooms and a large bed room with balcony and fireplace give the focus to those that live there.

There are three other bedrooms as well as a large media room that doubles as a home office and family room when children or grand children visit.

The exterior of shingles and washed river stone emulate the historic details of the area. Each unit is designed for privacy yet they all enjoy the huge expanse of sky and water.

This project aimed to integrate an essential riverside property back in to the skyline of downtown of Rowayton and it's historic homes.

Hollow Tree Ridge

HOLLOW TREE RIDGE ROAD | ROWAYTON, CT

Private Residence

Hollow Tree Ridge Rd. was a run down stone house that we completely gutted, leaving only a few stone walls that became the base theme for the new struture. 70% of the stone facade is new and matches perfectly the heavily grouted old stone, allowing the feel of a vintage stone residence. Low roof lines and second floor dormers help to maintain the original look. The interior was done in stucco and stone with a stone arched foyer that defines the feel of the whole house. Antique beams run throughout the house and are complemented by a classic Christopher Peacock kitchen and butlers pantry. Bead board and wide oak plank flooring complete the look.

The Maples

THE MAPLES | NEW CANAAN, CT

Inn and Private Residences

The Origins of the Maples Inn:

The original Maples inn was built in 1908 by the Elwood Brothers, designed with well-proportioned spaces and Queen Anne details so characteristic of Colonial Revival homes from that specific period. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, the inn continued to provide a charming New England respite for travelers through most of the last century. Today, more than a century since its beginnings, the inn’s elegant style has been revived, with an inspired purpose: To provide a new concept for gracious living, in the heart of the New Canaan community.
